GetJet Airlines, Lithuanian ACMI and charter flight company, canceled Tui Baltics flights to Egypt.
The canceled flight on the route Vilnius – Sharm el-Sheikh (No. GW3045) which was scheduled for March 3 (Thursday) morning, as well as the flights from Riga and Tallinn to Egypt, planned this weekend.
GetJet Airlines decided to cancel the flights to Egypt and terminate the cooperation with TUI Baltics in compliance with the sanctions announced by the European Union for Russian businesses and individuals of this country.
“We apologize to the passengers who have planned their holidays. However, we cannot remain indifferent to the war in Ukraine. We respond and act following the sanctions imposed by the EU; we monitor the list of the people included in the EU sanctions package. For this reason, we cancel the planned flights and terminate cooperation with sanctioned business units,” says Darius Viltrakis, CEO of GetJet Airlines.
The decision to cancel flights includes flights from Vilnius, Riga and Tallinn to Hurgada and Sharm el-Sheikh.
The upcoming flights from neighboring capitals, which have also been canceled, were scheduled for this weekend. According to the head of the Lithuanian airline, the company will operate flights to take travelers who are currently in Egypt back to Vilnius, Riga and Tallinn.
Passengers who have purchased a TUI Baltics trip to Egypt should contact the TUI Baltics (TT Baltia SIA) regarding the canceled flights.
