01Passengers with special needs

We strive to make passengers with disabilities as comfortable as possible on flights operated by GetJet Airlines, and we provide assistance as required by EU Directive 1107/2006.

Carriage of a disabled person or other person who needs an assistance may require prior agreement with the airline before purchasing of the ticket. The tour operator or travel agent must obtain approval from GetJet Airlines prior to selling the ticket to such person. The passenger must inform his/her travel agent or airline at least 48 hours before departure if:

  • he / she has a physical disability
  • he / she has hearing and visual disabilities and needs help
  • he / she travels with a portable oxygen concentrator (POC)
  • he / she travels with a certified animal helper, i.e. guide dogs

Passengers unable to take care of themselves during the flight, as well as passengers with motor or mental disabilities, may travel only when accompanied by a healthy adult. All passengers with disabilities must sit in normal airplane chairs with a perpendicular backrest. Flight attendants are prohibited from assisting passengers in eating or help with personal hygiene. They are prohibited from lifting or carrying passengers.

In accordance with the European Union’s Regulation (EC) No. 1107/2006 of the Parliament and of the Council of 5 July 2006 concerning the rights of disabled persons and persons with reduced mobility when travelling by air (henceforth referred to as Regulation No. 1107/2006), disabled passengers or passengers with reduced mobility shall be seated at a window, seats at emergency row are prohibited. Seats shall be provided taking into account safety factors, to ensure:

  • that the flight crew is not prevented from performing their duties
  • access to emergency equipment will not be blocked
  • there will be no interference with the evacuation of the aircraft in the event of an emergency
  • These rules apply to disabled passengers and persons with reduced mobility traveling with or without escort.

If a disabled person or person with reduced mobility is accompanied by other passenger, GetJet Airlines will make every effort to ensure that the accompanying person and the disabled person or person with reduced mobility are seated next to each other.
